Scientific information and the lay public
disinformation questions
Abstract
The dissemination of disinformation and its acceptance as real by social network users, there are ideological and commercial issues involved. In this work, the main objective is to investigate factors related to the user's ability to infer that such information is true through theoretical discussion based on studies that correlate mind and information, like the confirmation bias by Peter Cathcart Wason (1924- 2003), and abduction logic established by C. S. Peirce (1839-1914). It includes a conceptual discussion about fake news, disinformation and post-truth. It is not our pretension to establish a single path for the question, but to emphasize cognitive aspects associated with the ability of individuals to infer reality according to preestablished beliefs.
