Voyager's Golden Record: against hopelessness

Keywords: Pandemic. The Golden Record. Voyager. Scientific divulgation. Hope.

Abstract

This work was developed in light of the thematic challenge of Scientiarum Historia XIII and from a new reading of the book Murmurs of Earth, which narrates the odyssey of the Golden Record project posted to Voyager spacecraft (1 and 2), launched in 1977 , towards interstellar space. Building bridges between the message of hope and the interdisciplinary work of astrophysicist Carl Sagan, we reflect on the importance and growing need for scientific divulgation.
